Hard work
High-quality output at a high pace. We plan properly so we're not inventing emergency fixes later, and we never knowingly trade away quality to move faster. Focus means being able to say no.
We're 70+ people in Budapest and London. Johnson & Johnson, Cisco and Paramount use Colossyan to turn what their experts know into training the rest of the company will finish.

We use these as the criteria in interview scorecards and performance reviews, so they are worth reading properly. Decide whether this is how you like to work.
High-quality output at a high pace. We plan properly so we're not inventing emergency fixes later, and we never knowingly trade away quality to move faster. Focus means being able to say no.
Everything we build exists to benefit someone using it. If you don't understand why a piece of work matters, you ask until you do. And you use the product yourself. Everyone here makes Colossyan videos.
You pick up and prioritise work without being told to. Nobody here has a manager assigning them a queue. If you spot a bug, a gap or a broken process, you raise it, ideally with a proposed fix attached.
Feedback is direct, constructive and early. We only say things about people that we'd say to them. Good news and bad news both travel, so you keep people in the loop on your work either way.
You're responsive, you help before you're asked, and you celebrate other people's wins like your own. Success here isn't zero-sum: someone else shipping well moves the whole team forward.
You keep getting better at your craft and share what you learn. You care about why you're building something as much as what the ticket says, and you take pride in telling people what you work on.
The practical things candidates ask in the first call, answered here so you don't have to.
Three days a week from the office, two from home. On top of that, one fully remote week every quarter to work from anywhere.
One day a week with nothing in the calendar, so there's a block of time you can plan real work around.
You decide what the most important thing to work on is, and you're trusted to get going without waiting for permission. Raising an issue with a suggested fix beats raising it alone.
Honesty is one of our six values, so feedback comes up as things come up rather than being saved for a review. When you don't understand something, you're expected to ask.
A structured review cycle twice a year: your self-assessment first, then your manager's review against the same framework, peer input, a calibration call across managers, and a 1:1 to talk it through.
Company-wide eNPS surveys feed into the next quarter's plans. We ask people to be blunt, and the results decide what changes.
Two offsites a year, Lunch & Learns, internal demos, and a lot of ordinary days in the Budapest and London offices.
The things that decide whether a few years here were worth it. The nice-to-haves are real too and they're listed underneath, but we'd rather not pretend free lunch is a benefit.
Every employee gets stock options. We want everyone motivated to do their best work, which is why we're all owners.
We're a Series A company of 70+ people, and over a million videos have been made on the platform. What you build reaches customers in days rather than quarters.
Generative video, avatars and voice are the core of the product rather than a feature bolted on the side. You work directly with the newest models and the researchers who tune them.
Reviews twice a year against a framework you can see, plus Lunch & Learns and internal demos where people teach what they've just worked out.
This is the process for every role, with the response times our talent team holds itself to. If a stage is taking longer than this, you can ask where it stands.
Every application gets read by a person on the talent team rather than screened by keyword. You'll hear back either way.
What you're looking for, what the role really involves, and the salary range and location expectations up front. We talk about money at this stage rather than the last one.
The deep dive with the person you'd report to, and for technical roles the craft interview. Every interviewer writes up their feedback within two days, so you know where you stand quickly.
Everyone does one. Either a brief you prepare and present back, or a task we work through together on the call. We're assessing how you reason as much as what you produce. Two hours is the cap because we're not asking for free consultancy.
A conversation with our CEO or someone from the leadership team about how you'd work here. It's also your chance to see the office and meet the people you'd sit with before you decide.
Everyone who interviewed you meets and decides together. Interviewers deliberately don't compare notes beforehand, so the opinions stay independent. One reservation doesn't sink you, it gets discussed.
One or two references for individual contributors, three or four for managers, usually a mix of former peers and managers.
You hear it on a call rather than by email. The number is agreed by the hiring manager, your recruiter, the CEO, Head of Finance and Head of People before that call happens.
Anything missing? Email [email protected] and we'll answer it, then add it here.
Hybrid. We expect three days a week in your local office and two from home, plus one fully remote week each quarter to work from anywhere. Roles are tied to either Budapest or London, and the job post says which.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship at this time. To be eligible for one of our open positions, you will need to have the legal right to work in the country where the role is based.
Two: Budapest (our HQ, in the 5th district) and London (Shoreditch). Both are central and pet-friendly. Every role is based in one of them, and we don't hire outside these two locations today.
You'll get a response to your application within three working days. From there, interviewers submit written feedback within 48 hours of each conversation, and the hiring committee meets within 48 hours of your final round. Total length depends on the role and your availability, though nothing should sit waiting on us for a week.
Make a video in the product before you come in. It takes a few minutes and it's the clearest signal that you're interested. Bring real questions. Be ready to walk through a project you owned from start to finish, including the part that went wrong. For the case study, your reasoning matters more than a polished deck.
Stock options for every employee from day one, private healthcare, your birthday off, two company offsites a year and a review cycle designed so growth conversations are structured rather than ad hoc. The full list is in what we invest in.
Yes. Email [email protected] with what you do and what you're looking for. We read every message and reply within two business days.
We ask for it. Every candidate who reaches the hiring manager round gets an NPS survey afterwards, whether or not we make an offer. When the process falls short we want to know.
