Switching from Synthesia

Move your team off Synthesia in the same window you'd spend renewing.

A year into any video tool

The video content you shipped last year is already half-stale.

You bought a tool to make videos. A year in, the harder problem is keeping that content accurate, interactive, and localized without rebuilding it every time something changes.

  • The compliance video where the policy is now wrong.
  • The onboarding sequence that doesn't match the new HRIS.
  • The product demo where the UI moved on.
  • The Spanish version that's three quarters behind the English one.

Re-recording each of those is the spend that doesn't show up on the renewal invoice. It's the spend you pay in your team's calendar every month.

Renewal is the cheapest moment to ask whether the tool is still the right shape for the job. You're already re-signing. You're already re-budgeting. You're already at the table.

Your stack today

Most teams run three or four tools. Pick yours.

Toggle what your team runs today. The right side shows what consolidates into Colossyan when you switch, and what the concierge brings across before you sign.

After the switch

Your LMS stays. Colossyan ships SCORM straight into it, on standard plans.
All of it moves in the first two weeks of the concierge engagement, before you've signed anything. That's the evaluation: your stack, consolidated, working, pre-contract.

Only run one of these? A specialized tool may be the better fit. The consolidation case is strongest when video, authoring, and localization live in separate contracts.

The offers

Two reasons not to re-sign a contract you're unsure about.

The reasons teams stay on a tool that no longer fits, switching effort and contract timing, are the two we remove.

We do the move

We migrate your existing Synthesia content and rebuild your flagship template in Colossyan.

Dedicated migration PM from week one. They bring your existing Synthesia videos and drafts into your Colossyan workspace so nothing gets lost in the move. Then they sit with your team, pick the single flagship template that matters most, and rebuild it natively in Colossyan, matching your brand kit and tone.

You see your own brand, your own script, your own template, working in Colossyan, before you commit to anything else. That's the evaluation.

Typical timeline: 2 weeks No additional fee One flagship template, fully rebuilt Drafts and videos migrated as part of the engagement
02 / 02

We handle the overlap

We credit your remaining Synthesia term against your first Colossyan year.

If you have months left on your existing contract, we apply that value as a credit on your Colossyan agreement, dollar for dollar. You don't pay for both. You don't have to wait for the renewal date to switch.

Your finance team sees one line item, not two.

Up to 12 months of remaining term Validated against your existing agreement Available for Enterprise contracts

If you have hundreds of existing Synthesia videos you need preserved 1:1 as native editable assets, that's not a technical capability either platform supports. Your existing files come across viewable and embeddable; new editable work starts native in Colossyan.

Teams that made the move

Three switches, three timelines, no horror stories.

We were on Synthesia for two years. Renewal came in 18% higher than the previous year, and the conversation with our AE kept circling back to add-ons we didn't need. We talked to Colossyan on a Thursday, kicked off migration the following Monday, and our flagship compliance template was rebuilt by the second Friday.

ResultSwitched 6 weeks before renewal date. Used the buy-out credit on the overlap.

The migration PM walked us through exactly what would and wouldn't move before we signed anything. That made it possible to take it to our procurement team with a fixed timeline and no surprises.

ResultFull switch by renewal date. Buy-out covered the overlap.

What we couldn't get past with Synthesia was that every translation update meant a re-render. The same change in Colossyan takes 30 seconds and propagates.

ResultSwitched mid-term using the buy-out. Saved the renewal conversation entirely.

The two-week path

Week 0

The call

20 minutes. We listen to where you are in your renewal cycle. You leave with a written migration plan, whether or not you decide to move forward.

Week 1

Migration kickoff

Migration PM assigned. Existing Synthesia videos and drafts imported into your workspace. Brand kit uploaded. Flagship template queued for rebuild.

Week 2

Rebuild + review

Template rebuilt natively in Colossyan. Your team reviews and approves the output. Buy-out terms finalized.

Continue building inside Colossyan, or walk away with the rebuilt template intact. Zero billing either way.

What teams ask before the call

The questions every Synthesia customer has at the renewal moment.

No. Your existing Synthesia videos and drafts come across into your Colossyan workspace as part of the migration, so nothing is lost. They stay viewable and embeddable; what's not technically possible (in either platform) is making them editable as native Colossyan scenes. New content starts native in Colossyan, existing content is preserved.

Close enough that several Synthesia power users have told us the UI feels identical. Brand kits, avatar selection, script-to-scene editing, export workflow. The concepts are the same and the muscle memory carries over. The biggest new thing is our course builder, which goes beyond what Synthesia ships. Most teams are productive on day one.

Both. Every video exports as MP4 for upload to your LMS, CMS, or anywhere else you embed video. SCORM 1.2 and 2004 are also available, packaged the same way Synthesia does it. Interactive content with branching or quizzes exports as SCORM only, since the interactivity needs the player environment to work.

The migration PM does the heavy work. Your team's commitment is roughly 4-6 hours across the two weeks: a kickoff meeting, one template review, and a sign-off session. We've designed the engagement to fit around a team that's already shipping, not to pause one.

We review your existing Synthesia agreement, calculate the remaining term value (months left × monthly equivalent of your annual contract), and apply that as a credit against your first-year Colossyan agreement, up to 12 months. It shows up as a single line item, not a refund or a complicated split.

Yes. The Organisation plan starts at 3 creator seats and you can add more at any point during the year, prorated. Several customers start there, run the migration, then expand once their team sees the throughput. There is no commercial pressure to size up before you are ready.

Yes. Our conversational avatars went into beta in late 2025 and customers are using them today for sales training, product knowledge checks, and client-facing onboarding. They sit on a separate minute budget from your video plan so they don't eat into your standard generation minutes. We'll show you a working example on the call.

You walk away with the rebuilt template intact in your Colossyan workspace, no billing, no further obligation. The migrated videos and drafts stay in the workspace. We don't auto-convert anything.

Colossyan is used by teams at Paramount, Continental, Cisco, Johnson & Johnson, UPS, and HPE, among others. Most of them moved from a video-only tool. The reason for the page you're reading is that renewal is a specific moment when the safer choice isn't actually safer; it's just more familiar.

Depends on your org. We've worked through SOC 2, GDPR, DPA, and security questionnaires with 200+ customers; our Trust Center has the artifacts your security team will ask for. If you'd like, we can join one call with procurement upfront and pre-empt the back-and-forth.

The next 20 minutes

The renewal-prep call.

20 minutes. We listen first. We talk through your renewal date, the flagship template you'd want rebuilt, and what your existing contract looks like. You leave with a written migration plan and a yes-or-no on the buy-out, whether you decide to move forward or not. No deck. No demo.
